Scottsdale Restaurant Announces New Ownership and Rebrand

El Patron New Mexican Restaurant and Cantina is Where New Mexican Cuisine Comes to Life

SCOTTSDALE - El Patron New Mexican Restaurant and Cantina is excited to announce its rebrand and new ownership over what was formally known as Bandolero de Cocina Mexico in Scottsdale. Owned by husband-and-wife, Jimmy and Nadine Daslakos, El Patron Restaurant Cantina is the first location to open in Arizona for the Albuquerque based restaurant company. The new Scottsdale residents now calls the Valley their home for at least half of the year as they will divide their time between here and New Mexico.

"After being in the restaurant business for three decades, we are thrilled to bring El Patron to Arizona,” said Jimmy. “We felt the rich culinary New Mexican cuisine was a perfect addition to the food landscape in the Valley."

El Patron is located on Scottsdale Road, south of Doubletree Road in the Shops at Gainey Ranch center. The space features bright colors with stunning chandeliers throughout giving the perfect ambiance for a party of two, family dinner or happy hour drinks. Featuring a front patio with garage windows to provide natural lighting and a back patio for all private event needs, El Patron’s environment is spacious and inviting.

The restaurant's food menu features a handful of shareable starters such as Tostadas layered with chile con queso, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, black beans, tomato, onion, and jalapeño with protein of choice. Also on the menu are Slow roasted-Southwest Cured Red Chile BBQ Pork Ribs, Authentic New Mexican Chile sauces (red & green), El Patron's Signature Serrano Cream Sauce- (not for the faint of heart)” and house-made warm sopapillas served with the meal or with honey for a nice, sweet treat. Braised beef and Chicken Taquitos are also on the menu along with Red or Green Chile con Carne, Posole, Fish Tacos and house salads and soups of the day are available for a lighter appetizer or entrée. The Cantina has fan favorites that features Chile Rellenos, Green Chile Chicken Lasagna, Huevos Rancheros, and a red Chile braised pork rib plate. There are combination plates highlighted by various tacos, enchiladas and tamales. El Patron serves its own style of burritos, stuffed sopas and chimichangas. Customers can also order meat from the grill, or a fish inspired seafood plate. El Patron will also have nightly house-made specials.

"Our dishes are inspired by the flavors passed down through generations,” said Nadine. “Today, we continue to highlight those time-honored recipes, infusing them with a dash of modern flair."

Located at 8977 N. Scottsdale Rd, in Scottsdale. El Patron is open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday with every day all day happy hour in the bar and patio. El Patron Restaurant Cantina serves a variety of wines and beers on tap with nightly specials featuring house-crafted cocktails and margaritas.
